Well, if you haven't realized from the topic title, through recent talks on the forums and chat box, or are new to the site, Board of Boards has been slowly dying off since summer of 2007, with members leaving the site unannounced, some announced.
It saddens me to see this site, almost five years old on October 14, something that I spent countless hours, days, weeks, and even years, along with the founding members: Taylor (XsmokerulesX), Evan (linkueigrandmaster), Matt (mattymoron), and myself, developing just to be gone.
I understand that we all have separate lives that we need to live, and I respect that. I mean, I was only ten or eleven when I created this site, with only a little experience in UBBC coding (code formate that Proboards' websites use), and I had a lot of time on my hands then, along with most of the founding members who were only twelve, thirteen, or even fourteen at the time. I mean, I'm fifteen now. I'm about to get a license in a few months. Hopefully I'll have a girlfriend soon, which means dates. I'm already loaded down with a shit load of homework. And on top of everything, I have a life as well as this site's valued members.
So, I present this message to you to officially announce that Board of Boards will not be officially functional until further notice. If this site miraculously gains a steady amount of new members, I will be sure to send out emails to everyone announcing the rebirth of Board of Boards.
And for any guests reading this, feel free to join. I'll check up on this site maybe once every week, or once every other week...
Goodbye, for now...
Sincerely Signed, Adam (TheJester190)

For my Twitter, I will post the link up as soon as it is registered.
A brief history of Board of Boards:
It all started with the popular action/fighting game series, Mortal Kombat. It wasn't too long before the release of Mortal Kombat: Armageddon that I signed up with the developing company's site, Midway Forums. There, I found a good community of people who shared the same interests I did, and it is also the place where I was first introduced into text-based, forum RPGs (sadly, the site had deleted all the RPGs and banned them from the site, calling it "unnecessary space").
After gaining some experience in how to properly roleplay, I decided I'd make my own, based off of Mortal Kombat and a mix of Silent Hill and Resident Evil. The idea took off and became City of the Infected (CotI for short). It grew somewhat popular on the site, which is where I first met Evan, Taylor, and Matt.
Soon after I ended the RPG, I had an idea to move CotI to its own site, however I wanted the site to include more things, rather than just one RPG. So Board of Boards was born in October of 2006, and the very first topic made was the official sequel to CotI. Taylor was the first to join the site, so I gave him co-admin, then Evan and Matt came along, making them the head moderators. Of course, the site didn't really grow much the first month or two, however, players of the first CotI found the site and quickly joined. Before we knew it, we had a good, small community here. But as quickly as they came, the new members started to disappear and leave completely.
It stayed like that for a good while, until I was in 7th grade, a year or two later. That's when I told a few friends about this site, Scott (majora), Jake, and Ricky. Eventually, Scott passed word onto some of his friends, and so did Jake as well. Taylor then invited his friend Josh (Mr. Sasquatch) to the site. We had a nice community again, yet, as history tends to repeat itself, Scott's friends left, I ended up banning Ricky's friends for being douchebags, and Ricky left as well.
Then, Miss Alicia (Lordess Nerevar) joined the site, which was the first girl since a month or two since the beginning of the site (the only girl staying since then was Neyla). She shared common interests with us here at BoB, including computers, games, and the like. Thanks to her, the site was completely rebuilt graphically, adding new, more awesome "skins" for the site along with her fanfics and motivated me to find a chat box and some more code for the site. The site had finally reached its "Golden Age".
In mid-to-late 8th grade, two new girls showed up, Aurora and her friend. More craziness and hilarious adventures ensued, keeping the Golden Age going for some time.
Summer of 2008 is when the real decline came. With no new members joining in a while, along with everyone growing up and living their lives, the site crawled to a halt. New posts/threads were scarce and rare. One year later, summer of 2009, I had just finished freshman year of high-school. Fun year, really. However, I started to notice by the time school let out that I had rarely visited Board of Boards. Evan, Alicia, Scott, and Josh were the only ones on for a short time period. Of course, life goes on. Alicia was going to college now, Scott had moved the year before to Wisconsin, and Josh, Evan, and Taylor, I'm sure of, were getting prepared for college now and trying to find out what they wanted to do with their lives.
Today, before I post this thread up, the status of the site is dead. I haven't seen Taylor on in weeks, probably since the end of July or beginning of August. Josh is rarely on. Alicia just started her second year of college at the notorious game school, DigiPen. Scott and I started our sophomore year in high-school, both of us being loaded down with homework (yet he still manages to get on and tries to find ways to help revive this site). Evan, along with Josh and Taylor, is most likely making his plans for college. Aurora just showed up again. And, sadly, I haven't heard anything from Neyla for months now.
So now you know, if you didn't already, the history of this site and members. No, members wouldn't be right... I think I'll call them family...
